The Human Reset Space Inc.: Helping People Rediscover Wellness Through Ancient Wisdom

This story is part of the Immigrant Entrepreneur Canada Retail Incubator Program, presented by RBC and supported by Meridian.

The program provides hands-on retail experience and business training to help immigrant entrepreneurs launch and grow their ventures in the heart of Ottawa.

At the ByWard Market Vendor Village, you will discover more than organic wellness products. Behind The Human Reset Space Inc. is a story of cultural heritage, mindful living, and a mission to help people reconnect with health through nature.

For founder Shireen Bhullar, wellness has always been deeply rooted in the way she was raised.

Originally from India, she grew up in a household where her father believed in supporting the body through natural remedies before relying on medication.

"My dad prioritized home remedies. We believed it was okay to take Western medicine, but we also needed to strengthen our bodies from within."

His collection of books on herbs, spices, and traditional recipes introduced her to the idea that everyday ingredients could play an important role in supporting overall health.

When Shireen later moved to the United States for her higher education, she experienced a different approach to wellness.

She noticed that many people quickly reached for over-the-counter medications for minor illnesses, and over time, she found herself doing the same.

When the COVID-19 pandemic created an opportunity to slow down and reflect, she began exploring what health and wellness truly meant to her.

As a lifelong dancer who began training at the age of three, movement had always been an important part of her life. She started paying closer attention to the foods she was eating, the ingredients in her skincare products, and the herbs and spices she had grown up with but rarely saw used in everyday life in North America.

"The more I looked into it, the more I felt connected back to how I was raised."

Inspired by those discoveries, Shireen began creating her own spice blends, sourcing organic herbs and loose-leaf teas, and finding simple ways to enrich everyday foods with both flavour and nutrition.

Eventually, she realized she wanted to make those healthy choices more accessible to others.

The Human Reset Space Inc. was born from her desire to create trusted, organic products that help people incorporate wellness into their daily routines without feeling overwhelmed.

"I want to make organic, conscious choices more accessible."

The business became even more meaningful after she was laid off from her human resources career at the end of last year.

While she continues to pursue her professional career, she saw entrepreneurship as an opportunity to diversify her future while building something that reflected her personal values and passions.

Like many entrepreneurs, Shireen has faced challenges along the way.

As a solo entrepreneur, she manages every aspect of the business herself, from product development and marketing to planning and operations.

"It can be exhausting making every decision on your own."

Rather than seeing those responsibilities as obstacles, she views them as opportunities to learn every part of her business before eventually outsourcing certain tasks.

She has also learned the importance of prioritizing what matters most instead of trying to accomplish everything at once.

One of her proudest moments came just weeks after launching her business in May.

Within only two months, she participated in multiple markets, secured opportunities at major community events, and was featured on CTV Your Morning Ottawa, where she introduced viewers to her business and wellness mission.

"When I look back every week, I'm amazed by how far I've come."

The Immigrant Entrepreneur Canada Retail Incubator Program has also played a significant role in her journey.

For Shireen, the greatest gift the program provided was community.

"IEC gave me a community of entrepreneurs who truly understand my journey."

Through mentorship, workshops, and practical business education, she gained valuable knowledge while connecting with fellow immigrant entrepreneurs who understood the unique challenges of building a business in a new country.

She also credits founder Karla Briones for creating a welcoming environment filled with experienced mentors and valuable resources.

For other immigrant entrepreneurs, Shireen's advice is to build meaningful relationships and trust at their own pace.

"Do not shy away from people."

She believes community is one of the greatest strengths an entrepreneur can have and encourages others to remember that success is not a race.

"Take your time and trust your instincts."
