Omar arrived in Canada alone at 18 as a refugee from Yemen, with no plan and no connections. He started with a humble toaster oven, and today ChewyPuff Cookie is a much-loved Ottawa food brand with a lot of heart. Along the way, he sold at farmers’ markets, ran a pop-up in the ByWard Market through our Retail Incubator, and won the City of Ottawa’s Youth Immigrant Entrepreneur Award.
